Class Act welcome NQT Newly Qualified Teachers

"Upon completion of my PGCE, I was quite nervous because I was actually becoming a teacher.
Class Act made everything easy! A friendly voice on the end of the phone when I'd had a bad day, loads of helpful advice, great flexibility and a real pleasure to work for."

Complete your induction year as a supply teacher

Did you know that you can complete your induction year during long-term placements as a supply teacher? Undertaking long-term teaching supply at the same school (for a minimum of one term) counts towards your induction. We have lots of experience working with NQTs and hold strong links with the Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA), who manages NQT Induction in the local area. Meaning, Class Act is well placed to help you start your teaching career from your first NQT jobs and forward.

Enjoy flexible working in our NQT jobs

Enjoy maximum flexibility

We can offer you NQT supply work to suit your requirements, whether it is on a full-time or part-time basis. What does this mean? In simple terms, if you want to work one day a week on day-to-day supply teaching work that is OK with us. But, if you want to work four days a week, longer-term, that is also OK. We will work to your needs.

Teaching resources

As we want all our supply teachers to feel part of the family and be ready to join any classroom at any time, you all get the same support and resources – no matter your experience. Please see our Teachers & TAs information page for a list of resources you will get as a Class Act Teaching Services NQT.

First step towards a permanent teaching job

The variety of experience that you gain from teaching a range of age groups across different schools gives you knowledge and understanding that is very attractive to head teachers.

Being a supply teacher may also help you to secure a more permanent teaching position in the school that is right for you. In fact, many teachers find permanent teaching roles after working as Class Act Teaching Services school support staff.

What does Oxford Brookes say?

Class Act comes with my (Oxford Brookes) highest recommendation. Class Act is a tremendous teaching agency. The staff favour a proactive hands-on approach, which means that you are never left waiting for responses. All Class Act personnel are extremely personable and have a deep knowledge and understanding of schools and the current market. Their careful and professional dealings with our trainees as they enter their first year of teaching is outstanding and one trainee recently quoted the following: ‘Their personal touch means you really know that they care and will try hard to find the place that is completely right for you’. This reflects how many of our trainees feel. Class Act is a very apt name for this exceptional teaching agency – They certainly are a ‘Class Act’ and one that I will continue to recommend to our trainees here at Oxford Brookes University”.
