Welcome to Class Act Teaching Services, the leading primary supply teaching Agency in Oxfordshire. As Owner and MD, this is quite honestly my baby, a business which I am truly passionate about and continue to nurture fifteen years down the line!
I graduated from De Montford University with B.Ed (Hons) and began my primary school teaching career in Warwickshire. After several years as a Class Teacher, I joined a well-known national education recruitment company, however it soon became apparent that there was a need for higher quality, personalised supply services for primary schools. This would have been difficult for a national company to provide, so in 2002 I set up my own independent teaching supply agency to provide first class people to local schools.
My goal through Class Act is get to know exactly what Oxfordshire Schools and Teachers require and then work directly with them to provide them with their best match teacher. We never compromise quality to fill a booking and have complete transparency with all of our Clients and Supply Staff.
I am also a mother of two young children and this means that I view things as a parent too. At Class Act we know that every child matters and that supply teachers have a key role in ensuring that children are given an uninterrupted high quality education
We have grown from a very modest start and are now delighted to be the leading primary teaching supply agency in Oxfordshire, but of course we still continue to offer that individual service that is the core to my business. Our aim is not to be the biggest, but to simply be the best provider in the primary education sector in Oxfordshire.

Clare Adams-Yewer FIRP began her career in nursery management, qualifying as a registered manager over fifteen years ago. Clare joined Class Act eight years ago and quickly became Branch Manager. With over twelve years’ experience in recruitment, Clare has now achieved MIRP status. Clare is the main contact for schools and teachers on all operational and day to day matters.
Mark Oliver MIRP is Julia's husband and worked for over 30 years in the Architectural profession most of it on designing school projects around Oxfordshire and the Midlands. Mark provides directorial support for Julia and management across many aspects of the business. Mark has a gift for creative design which he uses in our marketing and web material.
Trevor Adams FIRP is Clare's brother and our Business Manager; he uses his experience from management roles in the service industry and as a school governor to support the business. Trevor helps us with many external activities and relationships with local communities and educators.
Nikki Smith is our Administrator and supports the whole team with far too many tasks to mention. Nikki is a new convert to Ice Hockey and is often seen representing Class Act at Oxford City Stars matches (as a supporter not a player).
Sonia Adams assists the team with office tasks, but with specific responsibility for managing invoices. You may have spotted that Sonia is another Adams; she is in fact Clare and Trevor's sister in law, so we really are a big extended family.
Harvey is Class Act Teaching Services (CATS) newest team member. Harvey is currently undergoing training, but if you are lucky you will get to meet him in the near future.
As you can see above we are very much a Family business and have been working together for a number of years, so you can be guaranteed continuity of staff members so that when you pick up the phone, you know exactly who you are speaking to (and we know you too of course).
All managers at Class Act are members of the IRP (Institute of Recruitment Professionals), which means that as individuals we have demonstrated significant skills and experience in the education sector with the highest personal values. We are especially proud of Julia, who has been awarded Fellowship of the IRP.
Class Act Teaching Services is a member of REC Education (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) and have been awarded the Gold Standard REC ‘Audited Education status’.
The REC Audited Education scheme is the most comprehensive regulatory audit available and ensures businesses comply with the very best practice on safeguarding legislation and recruitment procedures.
