Welcome to Class Act Teaching Services, the leading primary supply teacher agency in Oxfordshire. As owner and managing director, this is my baby – a business I am truly passionate about and continue to nurture over 18 years down the line!
I graduated from De Montford University with B.Ed (Hons) and began my primary school teaching career in Warwickshire. After several years as a class teacher, I joined a well-known national education recruitment agency. It soon became clear that there was a need for a higher quality supply teacher agency for primary schools – one that provides a more personalised service. This would have been difficult for a national company to achieve. So, in 2002 I set up my own independent teaching supply agency to provide first-class people to local schools.
My goal, through Class Act, is to know exactly what Oxfordshire schools and teachers need and then work directly with them to provide their best match teacher. We never compromise on quality to fill a booking and have complete transparency with all the schools and supply staff we work with.
I am also a mother of two young children; this means I view things as a parent as well as an experienced primary teacher. At Class Act, we know each child matters and that a supply teacher’s key role is to ensure that all children are given an uninterrupted first-rate education.
Growing from modest beginnings, we are now delighted to be the leading primary supply teacher agency in Oxfordshire. But we continue to offer the individual, bespoke service that is the heart of my business. Our aim is not to be the biggest but to be the best provider in Oxfordshire’s primary education sector.

Clare began her career in nursery management, qualifying as a registered nursery manager. She joined Class Act Teaching Services back in 2009 and quickly rose to become our branch manager. Clare is a Fellow of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (FIRP) and is the main contact for schools and teachers on all operational and day-to-day matters.
Mark is Julia's husband and worked in architectural design for over 30 years, including many school projects in and around Oxfordshire. As well as managing many aspects of the business, Mark provides directorial support to Julia and is a Member of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (MIRP). He uses his flair for design, creating many of our marketing materials.
Nikki is our recruitment and marketing consultant and supports the whole team with far too many tasks to mention…. Known for always having a smile on her face, Nikki loves to travel. She is an ice hockey convert and is often seen cheering on the Oxford City Stars at their matches.
Lisa is our finance assistant, supporting our schools with all money matters. Having completed more than six half-marathons (not to mention keeping pace with three children and a dog), Lisa is a keen runner who loves the outdoors. Travel, near and far, are also Lisa’s passions – she is happiest seated by a campfire on a summer evening.
Becky is our office administrator and supports the Class Act team by undertaking numerous tasks. She makes amazing cakes and spends her spare time visiting interesting places. Mum of three Becky also supports her boys with their schoolwork and by cheering them on at the side of wet football pitches!
As you can see, Class Act Teaching Services is very much a family business. We have been working together for several years. So, when you pick up the phone, you will always know exactly who you are speaking to (and we will know you too)!
All managers at Class Act Teaching Services are members of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP). This means that, as individuals, we have demonstrated significant skills and experience in the education sector with the highest personal values.
